The mattress pad for this product is made from polyurethane, which is not eco-friendly at all. If the eco-friendly tag is important to you (and that was the only reason I was willing to pay $250 for a padded tray), then this might be useful for you to know. I suppose you could buy it and then buy something an eco-friendly diaper pad, but for the price, I think that's a lot of extra. I returned this (great return service!) and ended up with a naturepedic pad, alone, without the wood. . .

We really didn't have much space in the nursery at all so this worked really well for changing. When our baby was little, we just left this securely attached to the crib the whole time. I also prefer this angle of diaper changing rather than side on.

A seriously genius idea. Although the Oeuf changing station is essential for those for whom space is at a premium, it's ideal for any nursery just to minimize the footprint of stuff in the room and on the floor. It fits perfect atop the Oeuf classic crib and though I can't vouch from experience, there's seemingly nothing that would prevent it from resting securely on any other brand of sturdy crib. We had friends who told us not to bother with a changing table at all and just use our bed for diapering - they'd skipped it themselves because they didn't have the room. I can't imagine the misery in our house had we followed that advice. My chiropractor bill would've far exceeded the cost of the changing station!
